Maximum cashout
A maximum cashout is a cap on how much you can withdraw from winnings made with a bonus, however much you actually win.
Also called max cashout, maximum withdrawal from bonus, win cap
Some bonuses limit what you can take out. The cap may be a fixed amount or a multiple of the bonus, such as 5x or 10x. It is most common on no-deposit bonuses and free spins. Anything above the cap is removed when you withdraw.
Example. You get a no-deposit bonus of 10 with a maximum cashout of 50. You finish the wagering with a balance of 180. The casino pays 50 and removes the other 130.
What people get wrong. People value a bonus by the biggest win it could give. With a cap, a big win is worth no more than the cap, so the bonus is worth less than it looks. The cap takes away exactly the rare large wins that make up for the many times a bonus ends at zero.
Do not confuse this with a withdrawal limit. A withdrawal limit slows how fast you can take out your money, per day or per week. A maximum cashout removes winnings for good.
On a deposit bonus, check whether the cap also covers winnings from your own deposit. If it does, think hard before you take the offer.
